I ASKED FOR STRENGTH

 I asked for Strength...
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

 I asked for Wisdom...
And God gave me Problems to solve.

 I asked for Prosperity...
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.

 I asked for Courage...
And God gave me Danger to overcome.

 I asked for Love...
And God gave me troubled people to help.

 I asked for Favors...
 and God gave me Opportunities.

 I got nothing I wanted...
But I received everything I needed.

To many versions of this to pin down the author.

It is going well. Filing income tax for the first time ever. Not half as bad as I thought. No black helicopters yet, anyway.
Still have consequences may swing around, this rebuilding deal isn't easy. If anything, a year sober is merely outlining what's on my plate.
One molehill at a time, one day I'll have a lawn.

God set a most useful example in breaking this life deal into 24 hour chunks.

“When things go wrong, you'll find they usually go on getting worse for some time; but when things once start going right they often go on getting better and better.”-C.S. Lewis, The Magician's Nephew
