Hi everyone. Thanks for your words of kindness re my near slip. It was true for me to go home and wait it out. Once there, warm and comfortable the urge left me. I'm going to my first meeting this am. Not brave enough to go by myself, so I called my brother to go. He goes frequently although he still sometimes drinks. He was mildly surprised by my request. It took alot for me to call. We are not very close and my family looks at me as the one who succeeded. I'm the only one who didn't get pregnant as a kid, the only one who went to college and became a prof. This is out of 7, I'm the youngest. I certainly had to swallow my pride. I will have to swallow it all the way to the meeting. Oh well, I have a feeling it's not the hardest thing I'll have to do.

Hi,

Well done on not picking up that drink when you nearly had a slip. It really will get better.

I really do hope that you will have a good first meeting. Well done on deciding to go. I'm glad that you are taking someone along for a little bit of extra support. You'll find that everyone at the meeting will be welcoming and helpful to you. In no time at all, you'll feel really comfortable at meetings and have some truly good friends.

Please let us know how it goes for you, won't you?

Take care,

Carol

Congrats on going to the meeting! We both went a day apart :) Great job on not having that drink. Get some numbers at the meetings so when you are having one of those days you can call someone. Great job!
