How come the latest meetings are 8pm where I live?   Is that when they end everywhere-what about imsomniacs lol... I was just curious to see if thats when the last meeting for the day is everywhere or if it is just where I live - maybe once my body gets use to sleeping without alcohol I will understand a bit more :)

Where I am we have meetings at 7 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 5 pm and 7 pm. Some people hang out after or go for coffee elsewhere.

Hi Jamie,

Here, in the UK, our last meetings are about seven-thirty/eight o'clock, too.

When I first stopped drinking and couldn't sleep, after a meeting I would stay and talk with other alcoholics or get back home and try to find some on-line meetings. They're not as good as face-to-face meetings, but they did help in the early days.

Don't worry about not being able to sleep properly. That will come right in time.

Take care,

Carol

My neck of the woods; Mon-Fri Noon, 5:30p and 8p, Saturday Noon and 8:30pm, Sunday 8am, 1pm & 8:30pm. There's one at a church on Wednesdays only at 7pm. I do the same, hang out after if I need to. I learned quickly if you need it, someone will hang out with you as long as you need it.

I remember not sleeping! in our town we sometimes go for a coffee after the meetings or the cinema, get some numbers too! your life will start flooding back in trust me, as for not sleeping I find no answer in my head apart from it does pass, as tempting as it is dont whack yourself to sleep with alcohol or blunt objects!!

I've seen meetings scheduled in my area for  every time under the sun, early as 6AM, late as 11PM - I've also seen people "fill in the gaps" themselves. There is a location in my area that had a meeting every weeknight but Thursday. Some guys took it upon themselves to orginize a Thursday meeting and it's now going strong. Maybe you should get together with some other like minded folks, find a place willing to rent the space in the middle of the night, and start a late nite meeting

Back home we had meetings as early as 6am and as late as 10pm.  I think here in Lincoln we have them as late as 10pm also.

We have an occasional late night meeting here - one as late as 10:30, I think (Friday candle light meeting).

I know of online meetings at 9:30 EST Sun-Sat and midnight on weekends. Certainly wont replace f2f, but = good company in those wee hours of the night for us night owls...
