I made it to nebraska Saturday night, just been trying to settle in to farm life...  talk about some major adjustments!  No washer and dryer, no dishwasher, and no shower just a tub!  Not to mention it's colder here than it gets in TN.  I've cut way back on my smoking having to smoke outside, it's almost 4pm and I've only had 4 cigarettes today, and that's coming down from 3 packs a day!  It's definitely different, but I really love it here.  And I love my new boyfriend to death...  we're sorta taking things slow, I actually use the term boyfriend loosely, we're not quite sure what's going on between us or what the future holds...  but you could say we're in some kind of a relationship.  Getting to a meeting tonight, we've been busy cleaning and me meeting his friends since I got here, and we both really need a meeting.  We have to go into lincoln for meetings, so he said it's hard to get to them every day but we'll go as often as I feel I need to.  My sponsor pretty much requires 3 meetings a week, and I know we can at least do that.  I've been taking the time to read my big book over the last few days though, and praying a lot.  And in a way we have our own little meetings at home.  I met his friends he studies the bible with today...  not sure how I feel about studying with them, his friend is a jehovah's witness, and not that I have anything against them, but there are a lot of things I'm not going to agree with.  I'll give it a try though, but I'm also going to visit the churches here in town, or maybe find one of my own denomination in lincoln.  Anyway, I've rambled on enough...  just wanted y'all to know I made it here ok and that everything's fine.

hi, Lisa!   Wow! I used to be a 2 pack a day smoker, till I got emphysema, so I know how hard it is to quit.   Down to 4 is just great!  You'll save money, feel better, and be able to appreciate that fresh Nebraska air. I was in a relationship, too, where my husband was of a different faith than me, and it was difficult. I'm glad you are going to look for meetings and churches that are compatible with the way you are coming to understand God.  I know what you mean about not being sure where the relationship is going,,,,     a Step at a time, a day at a time,,,  do your best and God does the rest.

love in recovery,

amanda
