Controlling Versus Trust (Preview) There was a time in my life when I felt so afraid of and overwhelmed by the very act of living that I actually wanted to make out a schedule for each day of my life for the next five years. I wanted to include all the chores I had to do, when I would do them, even when I would schedule relaxation. I wanted to get so...	Quetzal	0	497	Oct 14, 2008 by Quetzal
God is Always On Time (Preview) I have been having problems for months with my toungue, glands, throat and ears. Lots of pain and infections. Went to several different doctors all stumped. The last doctor said it may be from 2 bad teeth I have (had). Anyway, I was so upset cause we have not a single dollar to spare and to my knowledge no d...	nique	1	436	Oct 13, 2008 by NELL
Substance over Form (Preview) I'm learning that for a variety of reasons, I've spent much of my life focusing on form rather than substance. My focus has been on having my hair done perfectly, wearing the right clothes, having my makeup applied perfectly, living in the right place, furnishing it with the right furniture, working... 24 Hrs a Day ~ 12th Oct 08 (Preview) A.A. Thought for the Day Am I still on a "free ride" in A.A.? Am I all get and no give? Do I go to meetings and always sit in the back row and let the others do all the work? Do I think it's enough just because I'm sober and can rest on my laurels? If so, I haven't gone very far in the program, nor am I ge...	Sobrietyspell	0	404	Oct 12, 2008 by Sobrietyspell
Got a sponsor! (Preview) I wanted to thank everyone for their great advice on how to choose a sponsor. I finally got up the courage to ask someone at the women's meeting I attend last night, even though she is younger than me and I felt a little weird. I have noticed over these several weeks that she always has strong, calm respo...	celtcgrrl	6	503	Oct 12, 2008 by tlcate
Life is good.... I SHOULD be happy (Preview) "Things" have settled down over the last few weeks. My son was found "not guilty". He (we both) was blessed that an AA who's an attorney offered up his services no charge. And we found out for a mere $200.00usd his record can be wiped clean. He just finished his 3rd week of Adult E...	Doll	8	477	Oct 12, 2008 by lani
A New Attitude (Preview) Hello family! Yesterday taught me many many things. The grief and pain so great. But it served to allow me to reach out a little and to turn to God a little harder. Fighting through the feelings, and only being sober 10 days I made it through somehow. And this morning I have a new resolve about stayin...	nique	3	402	Oct 12, 2008 by Doll
Stop playing tug-of-war (Preview) Letting go can be like a tug-of-war with God. Have you ever played tug-of-war with a puppy and an old sock or a toy? He pulls. You pull it out of his mouth. He grabs hold again and shakes and shakes and says grrrrrr. The harder you tug, the harder the puppy tugs. Finally, you just let go. Then he comes right...	Quetzal	1	438	Oct 12, 2008 by Doll
Meetings while drinking? (Preview) I haven't been going to meetings the last six weeks. A friend of mine implored me tonight to just go to a meeting per day, whether I was drunk or not. He said that since I was organizing my work and social life around drinking, I could do the same for meetings. I guess he thinks that by going to meetings, I wil... ORGANIZED??? (Preview) Hate the word organization... reminds me too much of WORK. They say AA ought never be organized.... does this mean AA's themselves ought not be organized? Probably not.... Learning lately that being ultra-organized is not in my nature. I am a very creative artsy kind of person, who goes from one thin...	jonijoni1	7	467	Oct 11, 2008 by Doll
