This story runs somewhat parallel to the Patrick Kennedy story I posted yesterday. For example, I see the "pathology of silence" prominent in the Belushi case. And, of course, denial is present (exhibited by the funniest joke about alcoholism denial I have ever read).

Ebert does a fine job of analysis and description, due in no small part to his inside knowledge. But he doesn't violate AA's anonymity principle on this one.
