Grateful Still --

May 17 1979, Was the last time I found it necessary to drink.

It was a decent drunk as drunks go. Three days later all Hell Literally broke loose.

The demons would not back down. Laughed at my puny pistol. I called the cops on myself. They say  No way, Hose'.

The cops give me a member of A.A. phone number. I call it. He knows of demons, He remembers his own.

He says  to get out of the house. I says They won't let me . He says they have to cause now  there is we.

I says WE ???   He says yes we  ------- Two of us together.  Next thing I remember it is eight the next morning. I am per his instruction waiting at a small cafe.

I see him come through the door. He sits three stools down, asks a few questions, I answer. He says your ready. Your Ready.

It's on -- He makes a call -------- It's still on. On today. On now.

I cannot take ownership of this sobriety. I do not wish to.

No word to express the obsession being removed.

Today I carry all of my life with me in this moment.

Plenty of room left for more new living.

  Wayne T.

They say a grateful person in recovery doesn't drink...

Way to go, Toad.
