Hey Phoenix, ... I read the attachment and I think I know where you're coming from ... emotions develop at a very early age ... and I, for one, believe they are somewhat hereditary ... some are a learned process of course ... when we get to our mid-twenties or so, typically we learn to control our emotions to acquire what we desire to have in life ... if drugs and/or alcohol are involved, then our emotions cease to develop in a "normal" fashion ... and we remain emotionally cripple until the drugs and alcohol are out of the picture ... for me, this wasn't until my mid-fifties ...

My emotional maturity didn't kick back in until I got sober a couple years ... then it was like I was twenty again, emotionally, at the age of 56 ... in a few short years, I believe my emotional health has made huge advances in catching up to where it should have been ... I am much more considerate and have much more concern for other's pleasures and interests .... at least I feel I do ...

My emotional health has been cured, for the most part, by working and living the 12 steps of the AA program ... this is a 'way of life' that every person would do well to follow ... alkie or not ...

Hope this helps with what you're having problems with ...

God Bless,
Pappy
