Hi all I'm Katrina.  As much as I hate to admit it, im an alcoholic.  I never really had a problem handling it.  I could out drink anyone.  I hurt everyone I loved tho.  I still remember the day that changed my life and thinking forever.  My mama (also an alcoholic) had been begging me for a week to come be here supporter to an AA meeting.  All I wanted to do is stay at home and drink, but this day I decided to go and continue drinking when I got home.  I heard a story while I was there that was like I was being spoke straight at.  That night I dumped all my alcohol down the drain.

I have relapsed a couple of times but now I finally fully realize that i can not continue down the path that i am down. I understand that I just can't do this on my own.

Welcome to MIP!

ADMISSION,ACCEPTANCE and putting down the substance begins the healing process. WE also suggest making meetings, seeking a sponsor and and applying the Program solution of the STEPS worked with a sponsor and applied in all areas of our lives....Just For Today you don't have to use,,recovery is a daily routine based on a fit spiritual condition. The STEPS will help you get to the exact nature of your addiction and know to be successful you will do whatever it takes to keep you from picking up that first drink again..WE are here for each other,no big I's or litttle U's just one reaching out to another in a loving and caring manner,Stick around,,WE need you...You are taking the first greatest steps of your life,,,hope to hear more from you...Here's a link to more information but Face to Face meetings are much better and WE have found that those who value sponsorship get the most from the program,,In support and prayer...

Welcome, Katrina! You've taken the first Step, which is not easy to do...in fact, the first Step may be the most difficult of all. Many of us slip at first, but the important thing is to keep trying. Going to meetings and getting a sponsor is a good support system... You don't need to try to do it alone, there are good people here who truly care and want to see you succeed! I'm glad you're here! Best wishes! Jerricka

Welcome to the forum, Katrina.

Keep doing what you're doing, one day at a time...

Welcome to MIP Katrina, ... Glad you're here ... AA is where miracles happen ...

I was a hopeless case ... when I first went to AA, I thought it a bunch of 'hocus-pocus' stuff ... I continued to try it on my own and kept getting worse ... never better ... after nearly destroying everything I place value on, I finally surrendered to the fact that I couldn't do this on my own either ...

So I came back to the meetings, and as hard as it was, I kept my mouth shut and started to listen ... and when I started following the suggestions, I started getting better ... and the 'one day at a time' turned into weeks, then months, then years ... Today, my life is now 'better than I could have ever imagined' ... the very same fate waits for you should you decide to stick around, which I pray you do ...

Note: We are not a religious group, nor a cult, or anything like that, but we are a 'spiritually close' group of people with a common disease that seeks help from a power greater than ourselves for help ... it works when we work it ... the solution to your problems is in the program ... and we offer it free of charge ... you only need to be willing to listen and try it ...

Love you and God Bless,
Pappy
