I don't know how you do it but you seem like an amazing person that gives us all hope. I just wanted to let you know as I've been reading these posts and see your words of encouragement it makes me feel like someone cares. So thank you for being there for us alcoholic's and making us feel comfortable in sharing our thoughts and feelings when we don't think there is anyone else out there that can understand what we are going through.

You made good observations. Pappy is a great guy with AA wisdom gained though struggle, surrender, and triumph.

Thanks so much for the kind words there Rayray ...

I truly feel "better than I deserve" in this life ... yeah, I got medical problems, but so do others ... today, I try and focus on being grateful for the opportunity to encourage and hopefully inspire others to live a life in recovery ... at my age, I have come to know that  'that kind of life' makes me happy today and hopefully 'supremely' happy in the next ...

I have been through nearly every kind of situation a person could find themselves in, in a lifetime, and have come to realize, 'Life's too short' to go around being unhappy, which alcohol did to me ... One other major factor in being happy is not having any more room in my life for anger ... I can't say that I remember 'anger' ever making me feel good ... I've not only seen it destroy relationships here on this board, but I have to admit I've also been a part of it years ago ... but learned that anger is only a fast trac to lose good friends and lead back to the bottle ...

So, my lessons have been hard learned and I continue to learn new things each day ... Patience and Kindness will go far in making lifelong friends here ... I pray you find this web site as comfortable a home as I do ... (warning though ... some of are really good at acting like 'spoiled little brats' ... LOL) ... just take what you can use for your own 'progress' and leave the others stuff aside ... and if I can ever help you or anyone else regarding a sober life, feel free to ask ... or PM me if you like, any time ...

Love my family here and God Bless them,
Pappy
