I got to go to my home group AA meeting today. It was a grapevine meeting. This means they were reading out of the grapevine which is AA's monthly magazine filled with recovery stories. This month's  topic was starting recovery late in life. An 82 year old woman I have come to really respect started the reading and the sharing. Of course she got sober at 71 and now has 11 years. Her purpose now is going to women's jails and spreading hope by bringing meetings in.  That was followed by many other shares that were profound as well. It was a whole testament to keep trying and that you are never too old to begin again. I get these lessons for free just by going to meetings. I am grateful for that.

Good share. I'm glad AA is free. It's kind of like Gods grace though we have to be willing to receive it in order for it to work. Then and only then can we hear the message and experience the miracle. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.
